ONA Project

Elemental Kids has been actively involved in the establishment of the Observatory Neigbourhood Afterschool (ONA) Project since 2013. We joined forces with the Methodist Church, residents and the Theatre Arts Admin Collective (TAAC) to create a dynamic after school activity space for children in the Observatory neighbourhood in Cape Town.

ONA project is a donation based community development initiative that seeks to provide children between the ages of 6 and 13 with a safe place to go after school hours for academic support and educational enrichment.

2016 marks the 3rd year of our activities through ONA. The project currently offers classes 4 days a week to children living in and around Observatory:

  • Tuesday: Y-Arts with the YMCA, from 4:00pm to 5:00pm
  • Wednesday: Visual Arts with Gary Frier and Nadia Woodward, from 3:30 to 5:00pm
  • Thursday: Cooking with Mana and Eric Judd, from 3:30 to 5:00pm
  • Friday: Lego-robotics with Simone at ORT-SA Cape, from 2:30 to 3:30pm

Space is still available to children that want to join in the weekly classes. To register or find out more information please contact: Eric Judd, ONA Coordinator at eric.judd0320@gmail.com

Even though Elemental Kids is closing its door, Tahirih Michot will continue to activiely support this community project through her company, The Idea Processor. It is a donation based project and we need to raise funds to cover operational costs! If you would like to give money to support this initiative, please contact Tahirih Michot on 0848734711 or at tahirih.michot@gmail.com
