Wonderful Windy Ways!

The Red Spotted Banana: a Collaborative Stop Motion Animated Movie

In the last week of the winter holidays we gathered around the element of air to create a stop motion animated movie. The children workshopped the story and script, developed the characters and set, film it and added sound. In the process children were able to explore different roles in the film making process – story writing, directing, acting, set making and sound engineering. One of the art space activities for the week was creating Kazoos with Gary – and our very own kazoo band played the soundtrack for our movie.

We went for a walk in the sunshine to Lady Anne Barnard’s bath in Groot Constantia,
Took time out to relax and enjoy the silver trees,
And we played games in the hall.

After a busy week we all gathered on Friday to enjoy our movie eating our popcorn out of branded up-cycled popcorn bags.
